Credits and tests

Credits are what you spend to run tests in Squoosh. A test is one experiment run — an A/B test or a Conversion Report. Every workspace has one shared credit balance, and each test draws from it.

How credits map to tests

A credit is the unit you spend to run a test. Your workspace holds a single shared balance; everyone in the workspace draws from the same pool.

A test is one experiment run. A/B tests and Conversion Reports both count as tests and spend credits from that balance.

"N tests left" in the sidebar

The account row at the bottom of the sidebar shows N tests left — how many Standard tests your current balance covers. It reads 5 tests left, or 1 test left at one.

The count is a running total, not a quota. It rises when you add credits and falls as you run tests. If no number shows, the balance hasn't loaded yet.

What a test costs

The run wizard shows each test's exact cost before you launch, so you see the price and your remaining balance first.

The default audience is the Standard sample of 1,000 synthetic shoppers, which costs 200 credits:

Field Value
Shoppers 1,000
Cost 200 credits
Est. time ~20 min

Under the cost, the wizard shows how many credits you'll have left after the run. The estimated time is rough, not a guarantee. Larger samples cost more and smaller ones cost less; the wizard shows the exact figure before you launch.

If a test costs more than your balance, the wizard blocks the launch and names the shortfall:

Insufficient credits — this experiment costs 200 credits, but your balance is lower. Pick a smaller audience or top up your account.

To clear the block, top up your account (see below).

Monthly and property limits

Credits aren't the only limit. Your plan also caps how many tests you can run per month and how many properties you can have. Both apply even when you have enough credits.

Limit Default What happens when you hit it
Tests per month 5 Launch is blocked: "Monthly test limit reached. Upgrade your plan for more tests."
Properties 1 Adding a property is blocked: "Property limit reached. Upgrade your plan for more properties."

The monthly count covers every test you start in the current calendar month — A/B tests and Conversion Reports alike — and resets on the first of each month. To raise either cap, change your plan (see below).

Note

If your account is suspended, Squoosh blocks running tests and adding properties with "Your account is suspended. Contact support." Email support@squoosh.ai to resolve it.

Adding credits or changing your plan

Self-serve billing isn't available yet, so credit top-ups and plan changes go through the Squoosh team.

  1. In the sidebar, click Settings.
  2. Open Billing & credits. This shows your current Credits remaining.
  3. Under Plan & top-ups, click Contact us to email support@squoosh.ai.

Tell the team whether you want more credits, a higher monthly test limit, or more properties, and they'll set it up.
